Unsustainable Economic Growth - Economics In A Full World by Herman Daly (Scientific American Sep 2005)

According to this view, the sustainable economy is equivalent to the growth economy, and the question of whether sustained growth is biophysically possible is begged. The political purpose of this stance is to use the buzzword “sustainable” for its soothing rhetorical effect without meaning anything by it. -- Herman Daly
